Tracking changes in SARS-CoV-2 Spike: evidence that D614G increases infectivity of the COVID-19 virus
B Korber et al, Cell, July 2, 2020

A SARS-CoV-2 variant with Spike G614 has replaced D614 as the dominant pandemic form- The consistent increase of G614 at regional levels may indicate a fitness advantage- G614 is associated with lower RT PCR Ct’s, suggestive of higher viral loads in patients- The G614 variant grows to higher titers as pseudotyped virions.

WA Akingbuwa et al, JAMA Psychiatry, July 1, 2020

This meta-analysis of longitudinal cohorts, which includes data on 42?998 participants, revealed significant associations between childhood psychopathology and adult polygenic scores of major depression, subjective well-being, neuroticism, insomnia, educational attainment, and body mass index but not bipolar disorder.

Association of a Polygenic Risk Score With Breast Cancer Among Women Carriers of High- and Moderate-Risk Breast Cancer Genes
S Gallagher et al, JAMA Network Open, July 1, 2020

In this case-control study of 9802 women carrying pathogenic variants of breast cancer genes, an 86–single-nucleotide variation score was associated with breast cancer risk in each of the tested carrier populations. Stratification was more pronounced for noncarriers and CHEK2 pathogenic variant carriers than for BRCA1 or BRCA2 pathogenic variant carriers.
