Screening embryos for complex genetic traits called premature

This is the first to empirically test the viability of screening embryos” for traits that are influenced by many genes. Such tests are based on a polygenic risk score, a tool for evaluating a person's likelihood of a disease or trait that has emerged over the past decade. For women with the most common type of early-stage breast cancer and high scores on the Oncotype DX test, receiving chemotherapy with hormone therapy after surgery can lead to excellent long-term outcomes. That’s the conclusion of a new data analysis from the NCI-funded TAILORx clinical trial.
