From the abstract: "Question: Is genetic susceptibility for gastric cancer associated with the outcomes of its primary prevention strategies?
Findings: In this cohort study of more than 100?000 Chinese adults, a polygenic risk score associated with the risk of gastric cancer was derived. Helicobacter pylori treatment was associated with reduced gastric cancer risk for individuals with a high genetic risk during long-term follow-up but not for those with low genetic risk. Meaning: The findings of this study support the benefits of H pylori treatment for individuals with a high genetic risk of gastric cancer and suggest the utilization of genetic susceptibility for implementing effective gastric cancer primary prevention. Sustaining Community Engagement in Genomics Research: A Workshop
From the website: "This hybrid workshop will examine how researchers could more meaningfully engage and sustain interactions with historically underrepresented communities in research to foster their participation in genomics and precision health studies. The overarching goal of the workshop is to help improve the quality of genomics research by understanding where obstacles to sustained community involvement remain. "
Exceptional Genetics, Generalizable Therapeutics, and Coronary Artery Disease
From the article: "The increasingly widespread availability of genomic sequencing has enabled the identification of persons and families with uniquely favorable traits, including a very low incidence of clinical events. Such exceptional persons across diverse communities are playing an important role in the genesis of medicines for common cardiovascular diseases. "
